Teaching the Holocaust in Missouri

Level 3 – Third-Time Participants Only

Presented by the Missouri Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission

The Missouri Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission is offering a Level 3 professional development workshop on the Holocaust for Missouri educators who teach this history and have previously completed the Commission’s Level 1 training. 

This Level 3 workshop will examine what Americans knew about the Holocaust as it unfolded and how they responded. Teachers will explore the historical context of American awareness and actions, including media coverage, government policies, and public sentiment.

Participants in this workshop will:

  • Learn pedagogically sound strategies to implement the Holocaust education mandate outlined in SB 681
  • Receive evidence-based resources aligned with SB 681 requirements

Space is limited to the first 26 registrants. All registrants will be notified of their status. Confirmed participants will receive a hotel registration link. Those not confirmed will be notified of future workshops.

Hotel accommodations and meals are state-funded with no cost to participants.  A stipend will be provided to cover travel and additional expenses.
